Terms of Service
Last updated: April 29, 2026
Welcome to Beero. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Beero mobile application (the "App") and any related services we offer (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Beero ("Beero", "we", "us", or "our"), based in Ireland.
By creating an account or otherwise using Beero, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Eligibility
Beero is intended for adults aged 18 or older. By signing up, you confirm that you are at least 18 and that all information you provide is accurate. We may suspend or delete accounts where we have reason to believe the user is under 18.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your sign-in credentials secure, use a strong password if signing in with email, and don't share your account with anyone else. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at hello@beero.app.
You may close your account at any time from inside the App via Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
3. What Beero Is — and Isn't
Beero is a personal beer-session journal and a social space for people who already drink. It is not:
- medical, nutritional, or addiction-recovery advice
- a way to buy, sell, deliver, or arrange the supply of alcohol
- a substitute for thinking responsibly about how much you drink, how you're getting home, or who you're around
If you're worried about your relationship with alcohol, please reach out to a qualified professional or a service like Alcoholics Anonymous Ireland, AskAboutAlcohol.ie, or your GP.
4. Drink Responsibly
You agree to use Beero in a way that doesn't put yourself or anyone else at risk. That includes:
- Never drinking and driving, operating machinery, or otherwise putting other people in danger
- Following all laws in your jurisdiction, including the legal drinking age (Beero's 18+ floor is a minimum, not a permission)
- Not using Beero to encourage anyone — including yourself — into harmful drinking patterns
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that contains content involving minors
- Impersonate another person, including a real public figure or another user
- Use Beero to harass, bully, threaten, or stalk another person
- Promote or facilitate illegal drug use, the supply of alcohol to minors, or any other illegal activity
- Upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt Beero or its users
- Attempt to access, scrape, or interfere with parts of the Service you aren't authorised to use, or attempt to reverse engineer the App except where allowed by law
- Use the App in any way that violates Apple's App Store guidelines
We may remove content, restrict, or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
6. Your Content
You keep ownership of the content you post on Beero — your photos, captions, comments, and session data ("Your Content"). By posting, you grant Beero a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service (for example, showing your post to your friends in their feed).
You confirm that you have the right to post Your Content — that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights, including the privacy rights of people in your photos.
If you delete a post or your account, we remove Your Content from the Service. Backups and caches may persist for a short period before they're overwritten.
7. Reporting and Moderation
You can report a post or user from inside the App via the three-dot menu on any post or profile. We review reports and may remove content, warn the user, or terminate accounts at our discretion. We aim to respond within 24 hours during a beta release period.
We use a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content, including but not limited to content that sexualises or endangers minors, hate speech, and credible threats of violence. Accounts engaged in this behaviour will be removed without warning.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service is built on third-party platforms. Their terms apply to your use of those parts of the Service:
- Apple App Store — distribution and in-app purchases (if any) are governed by Apple's terms.
- Sign in with Apple — governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, storage, and crash reporting.
- Apple MapKit and Google Places — venue search.
Beero is not responsible for those services' availability or for content that originates outside the App.
9. Termination
You may stop using Beero at any time and delete your account from inside the App. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these Terms or if continuing to provide the Service to you would expose Beero or other users to harm or legal risk.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
Information about venues, including opening hours, location, and offerings, is sourced from third parties and may be inaccurate or out of date. Always confirm details with the venue directly.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beero, its directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by Irish or EU law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Beero harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you have posted to the Service.
13. Apple-Specific Terms
This section applies only when you have downloaded the App from the Apple App Store. These Terms are between you and Beero, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price you paid for the App (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Beero, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any product or content claims, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection law.
- If a third party claims that the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Beero — not Apple — is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland, except where applicable consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your home country.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email. If you continue using the Service after the new Terms take effect, you accept them.
